“Admission examinations to the notary profession are over. Let me congratulate the whole notary community with new recruitment. As a result of the examination, there are 207 new notaries. A total of 539 candidates took the examination. That is, we have 38% of successful candidates,” said Olena Sukmanova.
According to her, the percentage of those who passed the exam reflects the European standard. “If 10% of candidates passed successfully the examination, this would mean that access to the profession is not ensured properly, and if there were more than 50% of successful candidates, we should be looking for a problem as the exam would be too simple,” said Olena Sukmanova. She added that after the previous examination, 22% of candidates became notaries.
The Deputy Minister noted that the increase in the number of successful candidates can be explained this year, one month before the exam, the Ministry of Justice published all the test questions on its official website, so that candidates could prepare properly, and the examinations were as transparent as possible to avoid any speculation that somebody got familiarized with the test questions in advance.
The Deputy Minister also added that within a month all the successful candidates will receive a professional license and will have the right to register private notary activities, or apply for positions in state notary offices.
